The Program Stream’s Goal is to:

“To promote sustainable economic and social development within the ASEAN region in line with the objectives and priorities of Vision 2020, the Hanoi Plan of Action and subsequent summit meetings.”

The objective of the AADCP Program Stream is twofold:

• to strengthen ASEAN economic integration by assisting ASEAN in its efforts at integrating into one market for goods, services and investment, including the development of appropriate labour market and HRD policies; and
• to enhance ASEAN competitiveness by supporting the establishment of a regional ASEAN environment for the development of a competitive private and SME sector with a particular focus on the quality and safety of food and agricultural products.

Five projects will contribute to Economic Integration (INT) and seven projects to Enhancing Competitiveness (COMP). Cardno Acil Pty Ltd is AusAID’s Australian Managing Contractor for the Program Stream. Cardno Acil conducted a tender process to select the sub-contractors to implement each project. Four tender rounds have been completed, staggered over the five-year program period. There are no more tender rounds scheduled.
