Cardno Acil Pty Ltd, on behalf of the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), is calling for proposals for the 9th AADCP-RPS funding round.
Proposed projects should be budgeted at between AUD$50,000 - $500,000 and can be put forward by either an Australian/New Zealand or ASEAN entity. Cardno Acil will only enter into a contract for the implementation of the project with an Australian or New Zealand-based company.
Proponents must undergo a two-step application process: firstly a brief concept paper stage; and secondly a fully costed detailed application stage. Concept papers must be submitted by close of business Friday 26 May 2006.

On 10 March 2005, the Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Hon Alexander Downer MP, made the Thirteenth Annual Statement to Parliament on Australia's aid program.
Australian Aid: An Integrated Approach outlines the Government's priorities for the aid program over the next three years. It builds on the objective, poverty reduction framework and guiding themes as set out in Australian Aid: Investing in Growth, Stability and Prosperity and Better Aid for a Better Future.
It outlines a number of key policy, program and partnership initiatives that will further enhance the focus and effectiveness of the aid program.

The 10th ASEAN Summit was held in Vientiane, Laos from 29-30 November. Leaders at the Summit signed the Vientiane Action Programme (VAP), ASEAN's new six year plan, which is the successor of the Hanoi Plan of Action (HPA) to realise the end goal of the ASEAN Vision and the Declaration of ASEAN Concord II. The VAP focuses on deepening regional integration and narrowing the development gap within ASEAN, particularly the least developed Member Countries.

With its three component schemes now underway, an official launch of the ASEAN-Australia Development Cooperation Program (AADCP) was held at the ASEAN Secretariat on 29 October 2003. It was a festive occasion to celebrate the continuing strength of ASEAN-Australian development cooperation and present the program's aims and activities to many eminent guests.

The ASEAN Transport Ministers met in Yangon, Myanmar on 23-25 October 2003 and expressed their support for the realisation of the ASEAN Economic Community. The Ministers reaffirmed that an efficient and integrated transport system was key for ASEAN to integrate with the global economy, improve competitiveness and enhance the inflow of foreign direct investment.

On Thursday 4th September 2003 Australia's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Alexander Downer and Minister for Trade, Mark Vaille announced the introduction of new measures to further promote economic integration and competitiveness in the ASEAN region.
